Disclosure: I received this complimentary product through the Homeschool Review Crew.
Over the past couple of years, the Review Crew has had different Bible Study programs up for review from Positive Action Bible Curriculum. Unfortunately, it hadn’t either worked in our schedule at the time or been for the suitable age range we needed. However, this year I saw they had a high school Bible study program called Behold Your God, and I was finally able to try it.
So far this year, our Bible time is part of our history program, so it focuses on Bible history. I wanted to go a little more in-depth with my high schooler and have her work on using scripture and really understanding God. Behold Your God did just that.
What is Behold Your God Bible Study?
Positive Action Bible Curriculum has created a Bible curriculum perfect for 9th to 11th graders. Through this Bible study, teenagers use scripture to learn about God and truly understand who He is. Students do this through a 35-week in-depth study.
Student Book
The students have their own BEAUTIFUL book. I almost didn’t want my daughter writing in it. Inside, teens have a few pages of reading on the weekly topic and some questions that follow.
Teacher Manual
I LOVE the teacher manual because it is so well organized! Positive Action Bible Curriculum makes things easy for your busy life.
Inside the manual, you have different schedule options: 3-day, 4-day, or 5-days. This makes planning super easy, and you can adjust it to what your schedule looks like each week.
Another great feature is the lesson plans. Each lesson is scripted for you making it much easy to teach. There are questions to ask and possible answers. Also, there are many Bible passages for you and your kiddo to read and discuss together.
You know what your child is working on as a parent since your manual has copies of the student textbook. However, your teacher manual has all the answers inside. This makes reviewing your student’s work easier at the end of the week.
Lastly, the manual for this Bible study provides you with quizzes and all the answer keys.
The binder is quite impressive. I never felt unsure about what to teach. It was all there for me.
Using Behold Your God Bible Study in Our Homeschool
Our homeschool schedule is constantly changing. That is why I liked that this curriculum had different schedule options. So, each week, I adjusted our Bible study to a 3, 4, or 5-day-a-week plan.
At the beginning of each weekly lesson, there is so much information and scripture to teach. Therefore, I usually spent two days going through all the material. After that, my daughter could do her reading and work on her student book. She did this independently.
At the end of the week, we reviewed her work. I used my teacher manual and walked through the questions, and we discussed her answers. We had so many great discussions!
Overall, we both really loved this curriculum. It is so easy to follow, and we had a lot of quality time to work through scripture together. I loved this time.
My daughter liked using this Bible study and wants to continue using it. She liked that Behold Your God was simple to use, objective, taught the material well, and age-appropriate. My girl has learned so much through this program.
Who Would Benefit from Behold Your God Bible Study?
I feel this Bible curriculum is a great in-depth study for high schoolers. Students will truly learn about who God is and how He works in their lives. You can easily count this Bible study for high school credit since it is that in-depth.
Teens could probably read through the teacher manual and do the work independently. It is that easy to follow. However, I think you miss out on some great discussions.
So, if you need a solid, well-taught Bible study for your high school kids, I’d look into Behold Your God.
Positive Action Bible Curriculum has other Bible study programs for your family. Review Crew families reviewed Behold Your God and other Bible curriculum for younger kiddos. You can read their reviews to learn more about all this company offers.
