Easy Valentine's Day Brownie Treats

Spread the love

Valentine’s Day is a time to get in the kitchen and create a yummy treat that will satisfy not only the stomach but the eyes too. I was looking for a simple Valentine’s treat that would be cute and delicious. Obviously, chocolate came to mind which led me to make Valentine’s Day brownie treats.

My two favorite chocolate treats are brownies and M&Ms. I usually fail at baked goods with M&Ms in them. The cookies or bars don’t bake fully where the candies are, or the color fades off the M&Ms.

I’m not a professional baker. I enjoy baking, so I keep on trying. My first idea was to bake M&Ms in the MIDDLE of the brownies. Wouldn’t it be perfect?! Your kids or husband bite into these bite-sized brownies to find pretty Valentine M&Ms inside.

You will notice M&M filled brownies isn’t what I’m sharing today. I tried it.

Do you know what happened?

When you took a bite, you couldn’t see the candies inside. The color disappeared. If anyone knows the secret to make it work, let me know.

I was determined to have a sweet Valentine treat for my family, so I didn’t give up. Here is what I came up with.

How to Make the Valentine Brownie Bites

My first thought for a Valentine’s Day dessert for the family was brownie bites. I think little bite-sized goodies are cute. I decided to use my mini muffin pan to make my mini brownies. I greased each cup with cooking spray. You could also use some cute Valentine cupcake liners.

Next, it is time to make the brownies. I used my FAVORITE brownie recipe. You can find it HERE. You can use any brownie recipe, even a box mix if you like.

Once I had my batter, I got out my cookie scoop. I wanted to make sure my brownies were uniformed in size. I would recommend not filling the scoop completely if you don’t want your brownies to bake up over the top of the pan and look more like muffins.

Now, I put the brownies in the oven. I baked them at 350 degrees for 11-13 minutes. They came out perfectly. You’ll probably want to start checking on the brownie after 9 or 10 minutes since ovens cook differently.

When the brownies were done, I let them cool in the pan for 5- 10 minutes. Then I put them on a wire rack to cool.

While the brownie bites were still warm, I pressed a whole in the middle of each brownie and filled them with M&Ms. You can do this in a few ways.

  • I used a decorating tip to poke in the middle of the brownie. Then I could pull out the center of the brownie and fill it with the candies. The center was too small.
  • I used the attachment which attaches the decorating tip on the decorating tube. It was a good size and worked, but I wanted something easier. Not everyone is going to have this attachment.

  • I tried making the indent with my finger. Since the brownies were warm, I could easily press the middle in with my finger. This was the easiest way to do it.

Here is the finished product!

Viola! You now have cute Valentine’s Brownie Bites you can give as a gift or surprise your family with.

These Valentine’s Brownie treats are easy enough for kids to make. My son helped me with them and enjoyed filling the centers with the M&Ms. It’s a fun snack for the kids on Valentine’s day or for the kids to make as a treat for Dad.

So, get in the kitchen and try your hand at these easy and yummy Valentine’s Day Brownie Treats. The whole family is sure to enjoy them.
