I like simple. How about you? We juggle so many things in our lives as parents and teachers. That’s why when I find something to make my life easier, I grab it. So, with Mother’s Day coming up, I created 6 Mother’s Day card printables for your kiddos. Print and done! They work well in your preschool, classroom, or home.
Now I know you probably won’t print these off for your kids to make for you (though, you could). Hopefully, dad has that covered. If not, you can forward this to him to give him a little help.
However, you can use these for other special women in your life like a grandma, aunt, or friend. Plus, you can use these at a co-op, preschool, classroom setting, etc.
As you can see, I have some Mother’s Day cards that your kids can color. That way, kids can add a little of their personal touch to the cards. For example, they can personalize them with mom’s favorite colors (or their own).
However, I know sometimes we need something quick and easy. If that is the case, some Mother’s Day card printables just need to be printed, and you are finished. Jot down a brief message inside, and you’re good to go.
How to Use the Mother’s Day Printable Cards
Suggestion #1- Print and Color
So, these printable cards are easy to use. Print them off on 8.5 X 11 cardstock or regular computer paper. The choice is up to you.
Once printed, kids can use crayons, markers, colored pencils, or paint.
If you want to use watercolors, print the card on cardstock. It is more durable. However, it may curl the paper a little, but you can flatten it out after.
If you don’t want to fold these as cards, you could also cut the sheet in half and mount the picture on colored cardstock. Then add a message or poem on the back!
Suggestion for Mother’s Day Printable Cards #2- Add on Your Decorations
Kids can also personalize these cards by adding decorations, whether the coloring ones or the ready-to-go cards. They can add:
- Stickers
- Glitter
- Sequins
- Buttons
- Pipe cleaners
- Pom poms
- Artificial flowers
- Ribbon
- And more!
You add these items to the coloring cards. Plus, it adds a little “pop” to the colored Mother’s Day cards.
Suggestion #3- Inside Message for the Mother’s Day Card Printables
Once the decorating is complete, it is time to work on the INSIDE of the Mother’s Day card.
So, what to do?
You can keep it simple by having kids write a message (or dictate it to you). Or, if you want, kids could sign their names.
However, this is a great time to add in some poetry. Kids, especially older kiddos, can write a poem inside. I shared some poetry ideas back a few months ago. Even though the ideas are with Valentine’s Day in mind, they certainly apply to Mother’s Day.
