7 Things About Me:
- I have surprised my family with my current life. My whole family thought I would end up living in the city. My life is not quite like that, though. I live in a town of fewer than 4,000 people with pet chickens and dreaming of the day of owning goats. I prefer living in a rural setting and can’t imagine ever living in a city.
- I have been married to my husband for 15 years. We have two children. It is because of them I am homeschooling. I always imagined I would have a long teaching career, and the kids would attend the same school district I taught in. Once my daughter was born, I ended up being a SAHM. I never envisioned this in my younger years.
- I taught for many years. I taught 4th grade and worked many years in special education teaching kids with emotional and learning disabilities. I also ran my own preschool. Out of all of those experiences, I would go back to teaching preschool in a heartbeat. It was the most fun I ever had.
- My kids have helped me to step outside of my comfort zone. I am a shy, introverted person. Because of them, I am a den leader in Cub Scouts and have been a team manager for Destination Imagination. I was never one to get involved in things like this until my kids came along. It has been good for me.
- I started blogging because I love showing others what we are doing in our homeschool. I decided to share our homeschooling journey with others in hopes they might find something helpful or encouraging while they go through this journey, too. I want other moms to see they are not alone in this path in life.
- Some of my best memories as a child are being with my dad. We would go for walks in the woods, go fishing (I usually paddled the boat and read), and travel around the state to watch boxing matches. Now I love watching my dad make some great memories with my kids.
- My favorite time of year is summer. I love sunshine and warm summer days. I enjoy being at the beach with my kids exploring tide pools and searching for seashells. I soak up all the sun and warmth I can because I am someone that is cold all the time.
I want to now make my own nominations. Here is a list of wonderful bloggers. Some blog about homeschooling, others blog about travel. There are also some parenting and lifestyle blogs.

Heya this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I
wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any
help would be greatly appreciated!
I don’t do any coding. I use a word press site, and if I need to use an html code, I copy and paste it into my site through a plug in. I don’t create any codes. I am not very good with computers, but I am able to run my blog.
